Sage Products’ Prep Check™ Awarded AORN Seal of Recognition™
CARY, IL, March 5, 2014—The Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) has awarded the AORN Seal of Recognition™ to Sage Products’ Prep Check™, Reminder System for Early PreOp Prepping.
According to Lisa Spruce, DNP, RN, ACNS, ACNP, ANP, CNOR, Director, Evidence-Based Perioperative Practice, the AORN Seal of Recognition assures that the Prep Check Reminder System has undergone thorough review by AORN and is in alignment with the guidelines of the AORN Perioperative Standards and Recommended Practices for Preoperative Patient Skin Antisepsis. While not an endorsement, the Seal of Recognition is confirmation that the Prep Check Reminder System meets AORN guidelines.
“This recognition by AORN is a significant acknowledgment of our Prep Check Reminder System,” said Patrick Schwab, Senior Product Manager Surgical Care, Sage Products. “We continue to strive to innovate and provide the ‘best practices’ supported by the best-in-class infection prevention products in the battle to reduce healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).”
Perioperative nurses rely on health care industry representatives to provide services that will be used in and around the operating room. “The skin prep reminder system submitted by Sage Products is in alignment with the association’s standards for excellence in safe patient care,” said Dr. Spruce.
To assist the perioperative community in selecting quality activities that promote safety and optimal outcomes for patients undergoing operative and other invasive procedures, AORN has created a directory of materials and activities that have been awarded the AORN Seal of Recognition.
