Joyce spent her bedside nursing career in the ICU, where she served as a mentor and charge nurse at a New York Magnet hospital. She worked in private practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner with a focus on infectious disease, gastroenterology, oncology and addiction medicine. Joyce continues to work in clinical practice. She worked at Schering Plough as a clinical educator and expert as well as a product manager in the marketing department. She now is the Vice President of Clinical Affairs at Sage, where she focuses on clinical research and education. In addition to her work in industry and clinical practice, Joyce has acted as an expert witness for several law firms, defending bedside nurses in medical malpractice cases.

Marcia Bauman spent most of her bedside nursing career in the neuro/surgical ICU. She entered the profession as a diploma nurse and continued her education to achieve a BSN, a MBA and a MSN with a concentration in Health Care Systems Management. She has extensive experience in the medical device industry where she served in a variety of clinical roles, including clinical training and education, clinical marketing, new product development and clinical research and marketing. In this capacity, Marcia worked with key opinion leaders and researchers around the world to help clinicians get the best possible outcomes from processes and protocols related to patient mobility, pressure ulcers, healthcare acquired infections, and safe patient handling. Marcia has also served as a clinical consultant for medical device companies and health systems around the country in the areas of protocol development, best practices, research and medical writing.
Marcia joined Sage Products LLC in February of 2013 as a Clinical Science Liaison in the Department of Clinical Affairs. In her most recent role as Director of Clinical Education Programs, she is responsible for the development of clinical educational programs geared toward nurses and other professionals on various clinical topics. She continues to serve as a clinical advisor in the area of patient mobility and healthcare quality.
Marcia has a special interest in the area of nursing education and has co-developed online nursing education modules and serves as adjunct faculty for the Utica College of Nursing, Accelerated Second Degree Nursing program.

Julie has experience in areas such as infectious disease, oncology, gastroenterology, neurology, and clinical research. After several years as a bedside nurse, in adult and pediatric oncology ICU, she moved into home infusion therapy, where she served 18+ years in several roles such as field nurse and staff education and as Director of Nursing. Julie later transitioned into the pharmaceutical industry as a clinical science liaison, which involved providing nursing, pharmacy staff and provider education regarding delivery of medication, clinical research, medication side effects and safety data pertaining to infusible medications.

Tanya spent a number of years working as a staff nurse in the neuro step down, intensive care, and labor and delivery units. She later became a nurse practitioner and worked in gynecologic oncology, educating staff and mentoring new graduates. After some time, she moved into the pharmaceutical industry, working for Glaxo Smith Kline and, more recently, into the medical device arena with Emory University Hospital.

Heather has experience in areas such as infectious disease, immunology, gastroenterology, dermatology, clinical research, urgent care and clinical management. After a few years as a bedside nurse, Heather transitioned to the pharmaceutical industry as a clinical nurse educator, which involved providing patient education, staff and provider education regarding disease states and delivery of clinical research, medications, side effects and prevention pertaining to a variety of injectable and infusible products. She has also served as a consultant for patient education materials and speaker for clinical organization meetings

Toni has extensive clinical and educational experience in critical care, trauma, emergency, and burn. She was actively involved in clinical research including multidisciplinary research committee member, publishing research, and organizing research conferences. After moving from bedside practice, Toni spent a number of years in the medical device industry where she served as a consultant to provide clinical expertise assisting hospitals with improved patient outcomes, protocol development, educational programs, and other consultative services. She currently serves as the Senior Manager, Clinical Science Liaison at Sage.
